What you should know about Vans
A converted van (more commonly known as a camper van) is a vehicle providing both transport and sleeping accommodation. Usually equipped with a gas stove, a small table and beds, it is the ideal mean of transport for traveling. There are several types of vans :
- Compact vans with or without a liftable roof (generally less than two meters high), are quite easy to drive and do not require larges spaces to park.
- Campervans (over two meters high) which are based on utility vehicles are in terms of size between compact vans and motorhomes. Their advantage over compact vans is that they are always ready to use, so no need to rearrange the sleeping area for sleeping or dining.
- Motorhomes which literally look like a small house with all the equipment you can find at home !
- Roofs tents are also a good alternative for those who prefer to travel with their own vehicle (as long as you have strong roof racks).
