What you should know about Saw Concrete / Stone

A concrete and stone saw is a powerful tool for cutting concrete, stone, tiles, asphalt and other solid materials. These tools are more powerful than conventional saws, they have diamond tipped blades that allow them to cut through hard materials accurately and safely. Concrete and stone saws fall into two main categories:

1)- Depending on how they are handled.

This category is divided into two types:
  • The small portable concrete saw.
It is a lightweight, hand-held tool for cutting walls. A saw that is easy to move and transport, but remains low-powered.
  • The chainsawwith driver behind.
It is a larger and heavier cutting machine, it is guided from behind and has high power and is very effective for cutting into soil, concrete, asphalt and all other hard materials.

2)- Depending on the nature of its use.

Concrete and stone cutters can also be classified according to their application, as detailed below :
  • Chain saw or ring saw
It is a specialized chainsaw used for cutting concrete. It is used where it is necessary to avoid overflows. The round blade of the chain saws makes them accessible in places where the usual road saws cannot intervene.
  • Floor saw
It's a floor saw with sharp diamond tipped blades. It is an ideal tool for cutting flat surfaces such as floors, slabs and roads. Floor saws are most often used for roads and pavements.
  • Concrete wall saw.
Wall saws are also called track saws. These saws are used on vertical surfaces, usually to make openings in walls. They cut accurately, precisely and cleanly.
  • Diamond wire saw.
No job is too hard and no structure is too big for a diamond wire saw. It is a very useful tool for jobs where difficult shapes and sizes have to be cut. Concrete or stone cutters are often powered by an electric motor with mains power or a rechargeable battery. The rechargeable battery automatically connects to the power grid when the battery runs out before work is completed. Other concrete saws and chainsaws work with a petrol engine. These are tools that are suitable for outdoor work. They are easier to use and more powerful than electric ones. (1)
