A water pump has just as important a role in a car as it does in draining water or moving it to another location. In a car, the water pump helps the coolant flow through the engine to cool the engine and then efficiently to the radiator. The water pump therefore supports the car's cooling system while also supplying power to the radiator. In addition to in a vehicle, the water pump is also used to drain water to prevent flooding in a cellar, to empty a swimming pool or any other water basin. There are several types of water pump:

• Lifting pump: It is particularly used to empty a flooded cellar, a water tank or a septic tank.
• Submersible pump : It is effective in bringing water from a well to the surface. This pump is used, among other things, to build an artesian well.
• Surface pump: This pump helps to draw water from a well, a river or the reserves of a water recuperator in order to use it afterwards to water a garden or an agricultural field, among other things.
• Booster: Helps to improve the water pressure in a distribution system in addition to solving problems related to underpressure in a facility.
