What you should know about Water Heater

To take a shower or a bath, to use your dishwasher or washing machine, you need hot water, which is why water heaters are essential and familiar appliances in most homes.

However, water heaters consume a significant amount of electricity or gas and if you choose the wrong one, it will create a leak in your finances. Here's an overview of the different types of water heaters.

Conventional storage water heaters :

These are the most popular; they run on either electricity or gas. They have a hot water tank ready to be released when you turn on the tap. These types of water heaters operate continuously, and are equipped with an electronic thermostat that cuts off the power when the optimum temperature is reached. They lose heat in standby mode and are more expensive to maintain.

Electric instantaneous water heaters :

These are water heaters that do not have a storage tank. They heat water only when you need it. These units are therefore more energy efficient than conventional storage heaters. The disadvantage is that a tankless system can cost much more than a water heater with a storage tank.

Instantaneous gas water heaters :

These are tankless water heaters that run on gas, either liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) or liquefied natural gas (LNG). These water heaters are more efficient and more economical than electric instant water heaters.

Heat pump water heaters :

The heat pump is a water heater that transfers heat from the air to the water. It does this by capturing energy from the ambient air and returning it to the water tank of the heat pump. They are economical devices that consume much less energy, and the same applies to the cost of operation.

To relieve your budget and if you love nature, solar water heaters have the advantage of reducing the bill and are environmentally friendly because they do not pollute. However, it is a back-up system and must be coupled with a conventional water heater to enjoy hot water all year round.
