What you should know about Barrier Deviation
The deflection barrier, also known as a pavement narrowing barrier, is a sign representing an arrow. This barrier is most commonly used on construction sites when a road is impassable. It is used to show a detour route to the desired location, replacing the original route.
Several signs exist and have different specificities to fulfill a single mission. For example, the most common of them all is a simple sign showing a yellow arrow with the word detour in black in the centre. Simply follow the direction shown to access an exit leading to the desired location. If necessary, several copies of this sign can be used to reach your destination. It is also possible to come across a sign stating that the number of lanes on the highway should be reduced. This will show you which lane is obstructed, allowing you to return to the right or left lane, depending on the sign. (1)
