What you should know about Loader
A
loader is a self-propelled construction machine that is used to
load, lift and move materials. It is equipped with a
bucket attached to the end of an excavator arm.
There are three types of loaders. The
wheel loader is generally used for earthmoving sites but also for some underground operations (mining, tunnel excavation).
Crawler loaders are slower, but can nevertheless operate on uneven ground, as well as on soft and muddy ground. Skid-steer loaders, more commonly known as
backhoe loaders, are smaller in size. They are lighter and offer better manoeuvrability. They are ideal for small construction sites or for operating in confined spaces.
Whether on wheels or tracks, the loader is therefore widely used: on earthmoving or demolition sites, for quarrying or mining, in underground environments, etc... Highly efficient, it can quickly load, move and unload large quantities of materials. (1)
