What you should know about Extinguisher
A fire extinguisher is an object that extinguishes a fire. It is used to spray an extinguishing agent onto the fire to smother it. There are many different types of fire extinguishers available to deal with different types of fires. There are indeed three categories, and each one has a suitable extinguisher.
- First, the foam extinguisher, made for class A and B fires, containing water mixed with an additive, which will form foam on the source of the fire and thus suffocate it and prevent any flame from coming out. But there are also water extinguishers, which will spray water mixed with a foaming additive as well, which will help the water to penetrate better. They will create a thin white film on the burning object and stop the fire from spreading.
- For class A, B and C fires, the dry chemical extinguisher will be ideal for smothering the flames with a chemical that will smother them. Thus, for low class fires but also for slightly more intense flames, it will be able to extinguish them.
- Finally, there is the extinguisher made for class B or E fires, an extinguisher that contains a very cold gas that will prove to be very effective. For small solid, liquid or gas fires, it will be efficient.
