The heat exchanger is one of the equipment used for various purposes. It is used in various sectors such as chemical, food processing, petrochemical, sugar, pharmaceutical, metallurgy, distillery, mining, biotechnology, laundry, papermaking or water treatment.
The heat exchanger is a device that allows the transfer of thermal energy from one fluid to another. This is done without any mixing. The heat flow actually passes through the exchange surface separating the fluids. The aim of the device is to maintain the physico-chemical characteristics of the two fluids. The pressure and the concentration of chemical principles are maintained at the level of each fluid. Changes are observed in the temperature or state of the fluids. There are several types of heat exchangers that can be adapted to various applications. Tubular heat exchangers made of stainless steel and nickel alloys are very popular on the market. The second category is exchangers with welded plates with wide channels. These are used to carry out exchanges on viscous, difficult and suspended solids filled fluids. The last category is that of exchangers with finned tubes. These are the economizers used for the recovery of energy from the flue gases.
