What you should know about Transformers
The transformer is an electrical power converter. It generally consists of coils linked by a ferromagnetic element. It makes it possible to raise or lower the voltage according to a ratio calculated according to the ratio between the number of turns of the primary and secondary coils. Different types of transformers are available on the market. There are single-phase transformers; three-phase transformers; isolation transformers which just allow to galvanically isolate two circuits or to change the neutral regime. Transformers are only used in alternating regimes. Transformers are categorized according to the voltage range used (high voltage; medium voltage; low voltage or very low voltage). (1)
