What you should know about Axial Rollers
Axial rollers
Super Precision axial-radial cylindrical roller bearings are often used to guide rotary tables, indexing heads and multi-spindle machining centres. Super Precision axial-radial cylindrical roller bearings are available for shaft diameters between 80 and 850 mm.
Models and variants
Axial-radial cylindrical roller bearings can support radial loads, axial loads in both directions and torques acting either alone or simultaneously in any combination.
These bearings consist of the following components (fig. 1) :
Two axial rows of cylindrical roller cages and one radial row of full complement cylindrical rollers.
An inner ring with an L-shaped cross section and two raceways :
-A raceway is used for an axial row of cylindrical roller cages.
-The other one has a radial row of cylindrical rollers.
-A free shoulder which serves as a raceway for the second axial row of cylindrical roller cages.
-The shoulder is held in place on the inner ring by means of setscrews which do not have to be removed until the bearing has been fitted.
-An outer ring with three raceways for the two axial rows of cylindrical roller and cage assemblies and the radial row of full complement cylindrical rollers. (1)
