What you should know about Tank Of Compressed Air Distribution

What is a Compressed Air Distribution Tank? An air receiver tank (sometimes called an air compressor tank or compressed air storage tank) is exactly what it looks like: a tank that receives and stores compressed air after it leaves the air compressor. This gives you a reserve of compressed air that you can use without running your air compressor. Using a Compressed Air Distribution Tank An air tank is a type of pressure vessel; it contains compressed air under pressure for future use. Tanks come in a variety of sizes and in vertical and horizontal configurations. The air receiver provides a constant flow of air to the compressor controls, eliminating short cycles and overpressure. The uneven use of compressed air results in uneven demand on the air compressor, which causes the compressor controls to cycle rapidly when the compressor starts and stops to meet demand on a moment by moment basis. Each time the system turns on and off (or charge/discharge) is called a cycle. It is best for the compressor motor to maintain these cycles as long as possible. Over time, short and frequent cycles will result in premature failure of switches and other compressor components. Fast cycling can cause excessive wear on the motor contactor or even short circuiting of the direct motor due to the insulation of the windings. The air receiver tank eliminates short cycling and provides a more constant system pressure to the controls. (1) We talk about Energy, air & water on our blog section.
