Elevator: operation and use
A freight elevator is a device used to lift, lower and move goods and objects from one floor to another. It is often used in a professional setting, for handling and logistics purposes, in a warehouse or store for example. Some models can be found in workshops and can help to lift loads of several tons, sometimes up to 30 tons.
It is a fixed device, similar to an elevator, and can also be used for domestic purposes. Elevators have long been used in large middle-class homes to transport meals from the kitchen to a reception room or a living room on a higher level.
The goods lift is available in several variants :
-Accessible and accompanied, when it can be operated from the inside by a person in charge of transporting goods.
-Inaccessible and accompanied, when the lift model cannot be operated from the inside by the person transporting the goods.
-Inaccessible and unaccompanied, when it is a self-supporting lift.
