What you should know about Endoscope
Such an intriguing name probably leaves you wondering: what is an endoscope? The explanation is quite simple, an endoscope is in fact a medical tool used in surgical operations, more precisely in endoscopies. It is actually a rigid or flexible tube to which a lamp and a camera are attached at the end. This tube is an indispensable element in endoscopic examinations, also known as fibroscopy. The purpose of these operations is to examine certain parts of the body such as the inside of cavities or organs, often invisible to the naked eye, and to check whether they are healthy or need medical treatment. There are different types of fibroscopy, some of which you are probably familiar with: colonoscopy, which examines the colon; gastroscopy, which examines lesions in the stomach; or bronchoscopy, which examines the bronchi and the inside of the airways. The fibroscope is therefore used to examine and analyze the state of an organ. This medical instrument consists mainly of a lamp that provides better illumination and an optical system that transmits the image from one end of the camera to the other.
