What you should know about Screen Sound
A soundproofing screen
is a panel used to soundproof
various areas, indoors or outdoors.
It forms a partition of different construction and thickness depending on the desired effect:
- Outdoors, thesound insulation barrier is a rigid and solid structure built along busy traffic routes, or in the vicinity of noisy railway lines or infrastructures, for an anti-noise effect and optimal noise reduction for the surrounding dwellings. These screens are generally about 10 metres high for total efficiency. Some of them are made of earth slopes, or can also be temporary, during construction sites for example.
The choice of material depends on the sound intensity, measured in decibels. The most effective noise barriers are made of concrete, cinder block, brick, sheet metal or wooden fences;
- on balconies or gardens: there are plastic tarpaulins filled with polyurethane foam, which are easy to install for private individuals;
- indoors, ready-to-install partitions reduce theimpact of noise on people: either to protect them from the noise of noisy machines around them, or to create soundproofing walls between two people working in a fairly small space.
