What you should know about Air Dehumidifier

An air dehumidifier is, as its name suggests, a device used to reduce the humidity level in a particular place. It acts against mould and condensation on walls and windows to restore normal humidity in the room. There are several types of dehumidifiers, the most common being the compression type. Electric compression dehumidifiers have a fairly simple mode of operation: they suck the excess moisture remaining in the air through a filter in a cold coil. The compressor then cools the air until it is condensed and finally the water flows into the built-in reservoir. The unit's fan will then distribute the heat produced by the compressor throughout the room to restore a normal humidity level. Apart from the type mentioned, there is also a dehumidifier called a desiccant and another one called a chemical one. In order for a dehumidifier to work optimally, it is recommended to place it in a cupboard or low cabinet. It is also important to make sure that there are no draughts: doors and windows should be closed. Once the humidity level indicated by the appliance is between 50 and 65%, it is time to switch off the dehumidifier, as air that is too dry can in turn cause health problems, such as headaches and dry mucous membranes.
