Concrete mixer

A concrete mixer is a machine used to make concrete or mortar by mixing different constituents such as water, sand, cement or lime in a tank. It is an indispensable tool for the construction trades since it saves masons a lot of work and a considerable amount of time. There are different types of concrete mixers depending on the size of the site using it. On small construction sites or for DIY, a small mechanical concrete mixer is generally used, powered by a petrol or electric motor. Each has its advantages and disadvantages. While the electric motor is quieter than the petrol engine, which is very much appreciated on a building site, it has the disadvantage of requiring an electrical network to operate. This second type is prized by do-it-yourselfers. These concrete mixers are mounted on wheels so that they can be towed. For larger sites requiring large quantities of concrete, there are loading concrete mixers that allow the components to be placed in a skip before pouring the contents into the mixing tank. Very large sites are equipped with concrete batching plants that are transported by concrete mixer trucks directly to the site of use. (1)
