- First of all, there is the so-called active antenna, which consists of a low-noise amplifier. This will be able to compensate for the signal loss you may encounter with the internal GPS antenna. The active antenna is therefore fed by the latter, and the GPS will automatically detect its presence and then deactivate its internet antenna in order to save energy.
- In the same way, there are the so-called passive antennas, which are less expensive, useful when the transmitter is not too far away, they are not powered by the GPS.
- Finally, the radiating antenna consists of two antennas. It will be useful if you don't have an external antenna connector. This type of antenna is able to pick up the signal even in areas where it is not normally accessible.
